부천시립합창단
1988년 창단되어 신선하고 다채로운 레퍼토리로 합창음악계를 선도하고 있는 부천시립합창단은 초대 상임지휘자 겸 예술감독 최병철과 2대 상임지휘자 이상훈 그리고 현재의 조익현 상임지휘자로 이어지는 31년의 전통과 역사를 가지고 있다.
뛰어난 역량을 통하여 깊이 있는 음악적 해석을 추구하는 합창단이라는 평가를 받고 있는 부천시립합창단은 특히 오페라 합창에 있어서 풍부한 성량과 강력한 표현력을 선보이며, ‘박쥐’와 ‘마술피리’, ’가면무도회’, ‘라보엠’, ‘사랑의 묘약’ 등의 다양한 오페라에 초청되어 왔다. 또한 부천필하모닉오케스트라와 함께 말러 제2번 교향곡 ‘부활’, 말러 제3번 교향곡, ‘탄호이저 오페라 콘체르탄테’를 선보인 바 있으며, 매년 베토벤 제9번 교향곡 ‘합창’을 공연하고 있다.
또한 루드밀라 예르마코바와 미국의 윌리엄 데닝, 조셉 플루머펠트, 제리 맥코이, 마틴 베어만 등의 저명한 합창 지휘자들과 함께 공연한 바 있으며, 2014-2016 미국 베이커스필드 초청 연주 등의 해외 연주도 진행하였다.
부천시립합창단은 끊임없이 새로운 감동을 선사하기 위해 약진 중이다. 인류 역사상 거대한 족적을 남긴 작곡가를 집중 조명하는 위대한 작곡가 시리즈부터 어린이 음악회, 가족 오페라, 청소년 음악회, 모닝 콘서트 등 세대와 취향을 아우르는 프로그램을 선보이고 있다. 더불어 찾아가는 음악회와 스쿨 클래식 콘서트, 야외음악회, 아트밸리 강사 파견 등의 행동하는 음악을 통해 부천 시민과 함께 호흡하는 시립단체로서의 역할 또한 충실히 수행하고 있다.
부천시립합창단은 앞으로도 한국합창음악계를 선도하고 관객들과 소통하기 위해 노력할 것이며, 합창음악의 철학인 ‘배려’를 사회에 전파하며 행복한 사회를 만드는 시립합창단으로 거듭나고자 최선을 다할 것이다.
Bucheon Civic Chorale
Founded in 1988, Bucheon Civic Chorale is one of the top choirs in Korea and is known for its refreshing and diverse repertoire. The choir has been led by three great conductors throughout its 30-year history: artistic director and conductor Byoung Chul Choi, followed by music director and conductor Sang Hoon Lee, and current music director and conductor Ick Hyun Cho.
Bucheon Civic Chorale is highly recognized for its complex musical interpretations as well as the outstanding talents of each of its members. In the past, Bucheon Civic Chorale has been invited to take part in various operas, including “Die Fledermaus”, “Die Zauberflöte”, “Un Ballo in Maschera”, “La Boheme”, and “L'Elisir d'Amore” and has performed with world-renowned conductors such as Ludmila Yermakova, William Dehning, Joseph Flummerfelt, Jerry McCoy, and Martin Behrmann.
In 2019, Bucheon Civic Chorale will continue to evolve as a choir and delight Bucheon residents with a number of exciting programs including the Great Composer series as well as children’s concerts, musical dramas for families, and lecture concerts. In order to accomplish its primary goal of being a civic organization that uses the beauty of music to enrich the lives and reflect the values of the people of Bucheon, the choir will also be presenting programs such as Visiting Concert, school classic concerts, outdoor concerts, and the art valley lecturers.
In the days to come, Bucheon Civic Chorale will continue to keep its commitment to lead the choral community of Korea, while spreading the spirit of consideration for others to build a better society.
