비올라 박하양

1998년 서울 출생의 비올리스트 박하양은 일찍이 비올라를 시작하여, 예원학교 졸업 후 연세대학교에 조기 입학해 김상진 교수 사사로 학사학위를 취득했다. 그 후 스페인 마드리드 레이나 소피아 왕립음악원(Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia)에서 스페인 알베니즈 장학재단(Albeniz Fondacion)의 후원으로 이마이 노부코 교수를 사사하였다.

이미 유년시절부터 다양한 국내외 수상경력을 쌓아오고 있는 박하양은 12세에 파리 레오폴드 벨랑 국제 음악 콩쿠르(Concours International de Musique et D'art Dramatique Leopold Bellan)에서 1위를 수상했으며, 2017년에는 제15회 도쿄 국제 음악 콩쿠르에서 힌데미트의 비올라 협주곡을 도쿄 필하모닉 오케스트라와 협연하며 현악부문 3위에 올랐다. 2022년에는 아시아 지역에서 열리는 유일한 비올라 콩쿠르인 도쿄 국제 비올라 콩쿠르에서 한국인 최초로 우승하였다. 그 외에도 동아음악콩쿠르, 음악춘추 콩쿠르 등을 비롯한 수많은 국내 콩쿠르 수상 경력과 2013년 금호영재콘서트 시리즈 독주회, 광주시향과의 협연 등을 포함한 연주 경력들이 그의 커리어를 채우고 있다.

또한 많은 국제 음악 페스티벌 무대에 오른 박하양은 미국 말보로 뮤직 페스티벌(Marlboro Music Festival), 스위스 베르비에 페스티벌(Verbier Festival), 서울국제음악제(Seoul International Music Festival), 통영 국제 음악제, 크론베르크 체임버 뮤직 페스티벌(Kronberg Chmabermusic connects the World), 크론베르크 아카데미 페스티벌(Kronberg Academy Festival), 세이지 오자와 인터내셔널 아카데미에 참여해 제네바 빅토리아 홀(Victoria Hall)과 파리 루이비통 재단(Louis Vuitton Foundation), 카잘스 포룸(Casals Forum) 등에서 실내악 및 독주연주를 하했다. 일본 마츠모토 페스티벌에서 지휘자 세이지 오자와와 협업했고 첼리스트 스티븐 이설리스(Steven Isserlis)와 개리 호프만(Gary Hoffman), 바이올리니스트 레오니다스 카바코스(Leonidas Kavakos), 크리스티안 테츨라프(Christian Tetzlaff)와 안티에 바이타스(Antje Weithass), 콜야 블라허(Kolija Blacher), 강동석Dong Suk Kang), 비올리스트 이마이 노부코 등과 함께 실내악 연주를 하였다
 
2023/24 시즌 박하양은 도쿄 산토리홀과 분카카이칸을 포함해 오사카에서의 독주회 및 실내악 연주가 예정되어 있으며, 나고야 필하모닉과 협연한다. 또한 뉴욕 카네기홀 베일 리사이틀(Weil hall)홀을 비롯해, 필라델피아, 워싱턴 D. C., 보스턴 등을 비롯한 주요 도시에서 열릴 2023 ‘Musicians of Marlboro’ 북미 투어를 함께한다.
박하양은 독일 크론베르크 음악원에서 울라 미너스/로레 부셰르 (Ulla Minners/Lore Buscher) 장학 후원을 받으며 이마이 노부코 이마이 교수 사사로 석사과정을 마쳤다. 2022 세화음악장학재단에서 故이종숙 장학금을 수여받았으며, 현재 크론베르크 음악원에서 전문 연주자 과정에 재학 중이다.

 Viola Hayang Park 

Korean violist Hayang Park was born in Seoul in 1998 and began playing the viola at an early age. From the age of 13 she attended the Yewon School of Arts, of which she is a graduate, and subsequently completed university studies at Yonsei University (South Korea) with Professor Sang-Jin Kim, where she gained a bachelor’s degree in 2019. From 2018 to 2021, she studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid with Nobuko Imai, funded by a scholarship from Fundación Albeniz. She has attended masterclasses with Lawrence Power, Tabea Zimmermann, Christoph Poppen and Antoine Tamestit. During her studies in Madrid, she was a member of the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra directed by Péter Eötvös and Pablo González.
 
Even in her early years, Hayang Park won a variety of national and international prizes. At twelve years old she won the Concours International de musique et d'art dramatique Léopold Bellan. In 2017 she took third prize in the string section of the 15th Tokyo Music Competition, and performed Hindemith’s viola concerto “Der Schwanendreher” (The Swan Turner) together with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also won numerous prizes in her native Korea, including the Chun-chu Music Competition and the Seoul National Philharmonic Competition.
 
Park’s concert biography already includes performances at Geneva’s Victoria Hall, Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Matsumoto Harmony Hall (Japan) together with Maestro Seiji Ozawa. She has likewise participated in a large number of festivals, including the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival in North Carolina in 2016 together with pianist Robert McDonald and violinist Ani Kavafian, and the 2017 Music Alp Festival, where she performed with Nora Cismondi, Marianne Piketty and Penny Driver. In 2019, she took part in both the Verbier Festival Academy and the Seiji Ozawa International Academy.
 
During 2016, Hayang Park participated in Chamber Music Connects the World, playing alongside Steven Isserlis, Christian Tetzlaff and Antje Weithaas. Since October 2021, she has been studying at Kronberg Academy with Nobuko Imai. Her studies are funded by the Ulla Minners/Lore Buscher scholarship.
